G. S. & S. Construction Wins St. Louis Business Journal Award. Our team was honored to receive the St. Louis Business Journal (SLBJ) 2019 Family Business Award at a special ceremony last night. Click Here to read their featured story about our four generations of family leadership.
At the awards gala, we were humbled to be in the company of 11 other St. Louis family businesses including the 170-year-old Hager Companies and Gus’s Pretzels , who is almost 100 years old, just like us.
How Did G. S. & S. Construction Win The Award?
We were nominated by our law firm, Lathrop Gage LLP . They submitted a lengthy and thorough application for us back in August. The business journal later told us that they had received over 60 nominations and chose the winners through a process that considered things like revenue growth, community involvement, and company values.
We found out about the honor in mid-September and were soon contacted by a reporter and photographer from the SLBJ. Our group photo was taken at one of our recently completed projects at Foam Supply, Inc. in Earth City. Reporter Steph Kukuljan then visited our office for a tour and interview. She also reached out to some of our customers for comments including Chris Chivetta, President of the architecture firm Hastings + Chivetta.
